Development of Killiney, as we see it now, began Killiney after the granting of the lands to the Talbot de Malahide family in 1200 who enclosed the area as personal hunting grounds.

This walk around Killiney Village traces the rich history associated with the area and how it has changed through the centuries.
On Friday 4th July, a short walk from Killiney DART station, will bring us to Cill Inion Leinin, the ancient monastic site from where Killiney gets its name.
Local history enthusiast, Brian McBryan will tell the history of the Ancient Church, followed by a visit to the nearby historic sites including the “Druids Chair” site of ancient worship.
On Wednesday 20th August and Friday 22nd August, the guided walk will be followed by a dramatic monologue performed by Catherine Beatty in character as Rosalie Dillon, taking us back in time to the 19th century at the Dillon family graveside..
