The Houses of Dún Laoghaire

a talk by Rob Goodbody, local historian

Dún Laoghaire is the greatest of the nineteenth-century new towns in Ireland, with its expansion into the modern town beginning a little more than two centuries ago.

It is frequently described as a Victorian town, which is fine, except that it wasn’t Victorian.

The houses of Dún Laoghaire tells us a lot about its history and give it a great deal of its present character.
