Dunleary / Salthill / Monkstown - where it all began

Free Guided Walk

The original Dunleary Bay and Salthill headland have been transformed by development over 250 years. This short walk will visit the reputed location of the original Dún, cross the old bay, visit the location of the first railway terminus in Ireland, and talk about piers, railways, roads, buildings, factories and a gasworks which reveal a rich history with impact far beyond the local area.
